The total confusion that Katie and Gumbel go through when trying to grasp the concept of and explain an email address and the Internet in 1994 is fantastic, but loses some steam when you realize it might be just as hard to do today. Take Gumbel’s challenge: describe the internet in 10 seconds. You must explain it to someone who has no concept of networks, a rudimentary understanding of computers, and has never heard of a text message.
Or you could just say “porn.”
